Sensei Glenn Herbert 3rd Dan, began his Martial Arts training in Shokukai Karate aged 18. At 22 he trained in Tomiki Aikido and gained Shodan (1st Dan) some 6 years later.Taking the Aikido further he subsequently earned his Nidan (2nd Dan) in Taiho Jutsu. After running the Sheffield Aikido Club for 15 years he returned to karate and, for 3 years, practiced Kyokushinkai Karate. In 2003 he started training in Goju Ryu karate at Norton Dojo and, in 2008, was successful in gaining Shodan (1st Dan) awarded to him by Sensei George Andrews, 8th Dan and Chief Instructor of the OTGKA. In 2011 he went on to grade to Nidan (2nd Dan) and in 2016 Sandan (3rd Dan) under Sensei Ernie Molyneaux, 8th Dan and Chief Instructor of the EGKA.
